Flat magic penetration (sorc boots, Stormsurge, Shadowflame) gets countered by Magic Resistance. Magic Resistance gets countered by % Magic Penetration (Void Staff, Cryptbloom) reason is: If you have 15 Magic penetration (from Sorc boots) and the enemy only has 30 mr, you basicly bought 50% magic penetration. if you buy stormsurge or shadowflame next you will deal true damage. The Galio bought Hollow Radiance which gives 40 MR. so he should be around 70 to 80 mr total. 15 flat pen is not doing much at this point. And investing in an expensive flat pen item second ist kinda troll. Other way around: if you see two enemys build flat magic pen or lethality just go mr or armor and they wont deal dmg to you. Also: You can just buy chain vest or negatron cloak and leave it in your inventory. you dont have to invest in a full item just for the resistance stat

@@losauruz6566 stacking % and flat pen is good if enemies are having some mr but not much health, so you can still one shot them. For example an enemy carry with maw or wit's end or negatron cloak etc. If you're dealing with juggernauts and tanks you'd rather have % pen and ability haste or even Liandry's to dps them down. And yes, lethality is just a flat armor penetration.
Is there a reason you went doran ring start as opposed to tear? Wouldn't tear start be okay into galio/garen/akali? Really appreciate these videos, keep it up! Also, is it possible to see a losing Orianna POV and how you would try to make game winning plays from really behind? Thanks as always
Personally I don't really like it, you can sell pot if you end up not using it so you're only saving a tiny bit of gold, and I think it's not worth just on the off chance that the pot does make a difference
Do you think Horizon is better than any of the flat pen items on Ori? I usually buy Luden's (whenever I am not against a burst comp, and it's easier to burst them in fights) into Stormsurge but with the nerfs I am not sure if it is still viable on her
@@Antoine-du5qo I think stormsurge is still viable when you are against full squish comps with you being a solo or second ap on the team, I usually rush stormsurge into shadowflame with syndra whenever in that kind of position and feels great honestly.
@@AlpnzAMV so you skip lost chapter or still buy it? I can't really lane without a mana item since i play quite aggressively, push a lot and always hungry for the stacks. Otherwise Syndra will get "outscaled" by all these sidelaners that soloQ is filled with. As for the Stormsurge, the stats on it do really suck, and i genuinely believe that they killed the item.
@@Antoine-du5qo well I got the itemization advice from a high elo syndra otp and it feels okay to lane with no mana item, I get manaflow band when i am planning to go this and its managable. I advise you to try it.

I think you should try avoid mercs unless you really need them. They are super expensive now and this game most of the CC is avoidable with good positioning so I didn't want to buy them
Flat magic pen is better against targets with LOW magic resist. e.g. if your opponent has 50 MR, reducing that by 15 is a large amount. If your opponent has 200 MR, a reduction of 15 is negligible, so in that case % magic pen like void staff is much more valuable.
When is ranked finally fixed? I was dia 4. Im ema 3 right now. Thats completely fine. But why am i perma getting matched with players that were dia2 - master 100lp last season?😅 Yesterday 2 dia 1 and 1 master player before reset in opponent team.

Normally it's just comet vs ranged, phase rush vs melees with sustain and aery vs melees without sustain

You can go tear if you like vs Galio/Garen, but you would a fair amount of early game power. I don't think you can get away with it vs Akali.

It's really good. you just need to know ahead of time that you wont need the pot in that particular match up.

Stormsurge is dead on 14.20, you should never buy it. Luden's and Shadowflame are still fine though.

Not on Ori imo, and phase rush is very good for scaling too
