Imagine hating a game for having cool stuff. Shadow mowing down agents of G.U.N in rightous vengeance was satisfying. Eggman blatantly ignoring the death of his cousin and grandfather because he is a twat.
This game is practically a story of how to overcome difficult times and leave behind shady things from your past, the development that Shadow has here is incredible, one of the best games of the franchise for me

The execution on shadow wasn't good and the levels can get pretty repetitive but the guns are straight awesome and the vehicles were useless but funny and fun to use. Overall I like this game than any sonic after black knight but it is not my favorite one. And the dark ending theme at 4:55:25 is freaking POWERMAN5000. Such a cool choice for a band and fit shadow well lol
@@SonicAdventureEnjoyer because Sonic Heroes didn't have such ridiculous progression, sure it got a bit annoying and a little repetitive that you had to replay every level for each team with only slight changes but it wasn't a chore to unlock the final story like Shadow. Plus the level design in Heroes is some of the best in the series and the gameplay is overall fun despite it's flaws. Not saying Shadow didn't have fun moments, it does but so much of it's missions ruin it for me and I can often get lost in a lot of them, take Lost Impact for example. It makes the process to beat it longer than needed. Heroes was a simple process to beat just like SA1 and 2. Even Team Chaotix missions weren't nearly as annoying, most I found to be actually decent to alright because they weren't that hard to do.
This character would've been epic for Smash Ultimate....but no! Edit: Okay, can we just not reply to this one? I was a little salty after Shadow became an Assist Trophy and I've matured since. I was really happy with the fighters we had. And that's all I can say. I don't know even know how this has gotten over 2k likes.

Don't take the English dub too seriously cause it's not so good. I mean there is a lot of Japanese dialogue that has been changed in the English dub (often for the worse probably) as well as juvenile usage of swearing. (like damn and dammit)
It would've been awesome if along the way, Shadow becomes so evil that there's this whole trilogy of Sonic boss battles to where the last one is a Super Shadow v Super Sonic boss battle. Probably been done before, though.

I actually have come to really like this game. The ideas behind the story are great (Terribly executed though) and the fact it's not meant to appeal to Sonic fans excuses it from being judged like a Sonic game. It has Sonic characters and takes place in the Sonic universe but the intent was not to appeal to the normal fanbase thus it cannot be judged by the standards of the normal fanbase. If you play it by its rules then it's a lot of fun.
rumor has it that back before its release, StH was almost made into an M-rated game. Sega refused to make it that dark though, so they got it down to a T rating

Just a fun fact: This game was developed in 2005 and was using the RenderWare engine. The graphics look okay to this day. But during that year it looks pretty good.

Still own it. My favorite Sonic game that doesn't had Sonic as the main. I don't care what people say, this is a good game, as long as you have this version. The game is really fun when using the Action Replay (of course, do it legit, first). I like how Shadow tried to figure out who he is then eventually realized his purpose, just like Mewtwo in the First Movie/Mewtwo Returns. I also love the freedom of picking of do you want to make him good or bad (canon wise, he's netural, in spite the true ending). Fun fact: Black Doom is voiced by the man who did Goku from Dragonball!!
The True Ending with Super Shadow was very poorly executed. All of that just to get rid of Black Doom when he could've done that in his base form no problem. Talk about a waste of time,but other than that... The game was decent.

Agreed. Hearing Shadow say “Dammit” was jarring to say the least, but honestly it gave him such a gritty attitude that I wish he had more often. It was especially jarring when Sonic, Knuckles, and Espio said “damn,” too. Such a squeaky-clean franchise that really should have explored the grit a bit more!

I saw this longplay awhile ago. It was an amazing longplay. It's the only Sonic game, where you can use a gun. And hear Vector say,"Find the computer room." It was epic, dark and full of adventure. There are so many endings to this game. "This is who I am." is also said more than once in this game. I overall enjoyed the longplay.
Siding with someone who could annihilate all he loved, but finding a way to avenge it. Professor Gerald Robotnik is a genius. He gave a life, though uneasy, to the Ultimate Lifeform and took back what he gave to the Black Doom.

I actually have come to really like this game. The ideas behind the story are great (Terribly executed though) and the fact it's not meant to appeal to Sonic fans excuses it from being judged like a Sonic game. It has Sonic characters and takes place in the Sonic universe but the intent was not to appeal to the normal fanbase thus it cannot be judged by the standards of the normal fanbase. If you play it by its rules then it's a lot of fun.
rumor has it that back before its release, StH was almost made into an M-rated game. Sega refused to make it that dark though, so they got it down to a T rating

@@frederickglass1583 Actually, it was gonna be a T- rated game. If you look closely at Shadow's mouth movements in the first cutscene, he actually says "Just what the hell was that all about?", but they removed it and brought it to E10+

ehy hello, talking as a guy who got the game when he was 6 years old and played it a few hours before returning it, but seeing this gameplay i can surely see that the phase is all fucked up and in general it doesnt look like a great game, dialogs are cringy af and in general the gameplay looks sloppy. is it tho? you think of it as a good game on technical level or no? aside from liking the mood and the story and all that you wrote?

I can't say how big my feeling is for this game, how nostalgic, I was a kid and played all day on my PS2, and split screen with my cousins
This and sonic heroes still my two favorite sonic games. The music and level/character design will always be the best to me. I hope this 30th anniversary game can go back to this

Like, Shadow is basically my 2nd favorite character in almost all sonic gameplays he’s in because he’s really cool and this gameplay is actually very awesome even though they didn’t play by the rules but I didn’t really care about that it was just a great game
Shadow was and still is a childhood hero of mine. The intro sequence still makes me so hyped.

OMG, same here! As a metal newcomer in the mid-00s, I was in 8th grade in the 2005-06 schoolyear, this game was the shit. Of course, this game and a strategy guide altogether were Christmas presents and I was glad I got to the final act.

I feel like this game was/is every Sonic fan's guilty pleasure. I say that as someone who actually really enjoyed it.
Still own it. My favorite Sonic game that doesn't had Sonic as the main. I don't care what people say, this is a good game, as long as you have this version. The game is really fun when using the Action Replay (of course, do it legit, first). I like how Shadow tried to figure out who he is then eventually realized his purpose, just like Mewtwo in the First Movie/Mewtwo Returns. I also love the freedom of picking of do you want to make him good or bad (canon wise, he's netural, in spite the true ending).
Fun fact: Black Doom is voiced by the man who did Goku from Dragonball!!
The True Ending with Super Shadow was very poorly executed. All of that just to get rid of Black Doom when he could've done that in his base form no problem. Talk about a waste of time,but other than that... The game was decent.

Ps2’s are still somewhat common on local buy and sell pages, pretty cheap too, it’s only in big cities that people try to charge like 200 for one, here in my home city I can easily find them for around 20-50 bucks

Agreed. Hearing Shadow say “Dammit” was jarring to say the least, but honestly it gave him such a gritty attitude that I wish he had more often. It was especially jarring when Sonic, Knuckles, and Espio said “damn,” too. Such a squeaky-clean franchise that really should have explored the grit a bit more!

This is the first ever game I played that was set in the sonic universe. I played this on the PS2 back in the day before I got my Xbox 360.

This opening cutscene is up there with Sonic Adventure 2!! I always tried to beat the game but couldn’t get some of the objectives this is rad!
I saw this longplay awhile ago. It was an amazing longplay. It's the only Sonic game, where you can use a gun. And hear Vector say,"Find the computer room." It was epic, dark and full of adventure. There are so many endings to this game. "This is who I am." is also said more than once in this game. I overall enjoyed the longplay.
This was my absolute favorite game when I was 10... I wish I had the means to play it again!
